so last nights turtle racing rocked! i went to marina del rey, got a beer, rented myself a turtle, named it seabury after my friend bryan and was all psyched to win. Well, there are all these rule you have to abide by for example when the turtle is racing you can't point or swear or make any sudden movements like getting up and running around (which drunk people have a tendency to do) and then the person who has rented to the turtle has to place the turtle in the center of the ring bending over without bendting their legs so basically all the guys can see the girls stick out their ass. also you have to do it very slowly or they blow a whistle and make you do it over and over. my guy friends who had heard of this ruule said it was over sold and not so hot especially right now being so cold and not alot of skirts and shorts being worn. so my turtle seabury, raced in heat #3 and came in 2nd, it was a close race, i have pictures but haven't uploaded them up on my computer so the ones i stole from the internet will have to do! tomorrow, i'm off to the santa anita derby day. My friend pete organizes a trip up there every year and picks a theme/costume we all have to wear and everyone gets drunk on the bus ride up there and drinks all day and plays the ponies. this years theme: we're all going to be dressed in orange prison jump suits, all 100 of us. he asked me and my friends to be slutty prison guards, so i have to go find slutty costumes today!

wine bar
last night i went to the wine bar that i'm frequently going to with andi and bernsie. i had so much fun and it's weird but i didn't want to go out, i wasn't feeling well from the blood donation or something but forced myself to go and we had so much and laughed and it was an all around good night. this bar, bodega de cordova in LA is so chill and the guy working there is so nice and lets you taste any wine before you buy and the whole vibe just rocks. turns out andi, bernsie and i are all reading the same book called "under the banner of heave" about the mormons. how weird is that? so we decided to meet at the wine bar and have a book club in 2 weeks. tomorrow night i'm going to the turtle races in marina del rey with my group of friends. you can either bring your own turtle or rent one, i'm totally renting one and it's gonna kick ass!! see the link below to learn more about this insane event.

beverly hills
so last night i was all set to go to the beverly hills city council meeting instead of doing something much more fun with my life. but i said i would go in order to get more information on the article i'm writing about the proposed expansion of the beverly hilton. so i show up EARLY i may add which i never do for anything and talk to one of the clerks there as I'm flipping through a copy of the meeting's agenda, everything is so formal, anyway, dude tells me that the bev. hilton already gave their presentation at 2pm in a "study session," whatever that is. bascially a "sarah is screwed session." now if this issue was going to be in the study session, then why on the website did it say it was going to go before the meeting? i'm all WTf and do you know how hard it was raining last night, so i had to trudge back to my car, but on the way back, stopped into the beverlyhills library where I got one of these things called a library card and checked out a book FOR FREE! i know i know everyone knows about the fucking library, but with all these super book stores, i never go to the library, but now i am!!! anyway, so i had to emai the editor of the canyon news and tell her i was totally fucked with my article, and she kinda got snippy, like i was supposed to know that the city of beverly hills has secret sessions that they don't tell the public about, anyway, i wrote a shorter, lamer article and am about to submit it. I also donated blood yesterday, which i forgot when i got on the scale and it said i lost like a pound and i was just about to chow down on something when i realized that loss was probably coming from the pint of blood that left my body yesterday, not from willpower and exercise.

meetings
yesterday i had a meeting at warner bros. studios with a t.v. exec. he was totally nice and it was a real fun meeting. these meeting in march and april are usually just general meetings with people from studios and networks. the people who do the hiring are the people who have written pilots and when the pilots are picked up to series in may that's when the real hiring starts. after my meeting, i drove over to the other side of the studio where they have the studio store and a jamba juice, starbucks and ben and jerry's and a cafe with internet connection. it was a nice way to spend the end of the morning. i would've walked, but it's crazy crazy raining here, like pouring fukcing rain and it is supposed to rain the rest of the month. I'm telling you, i'm int bed right now and keep falling asleep because of the sound of the rain hitting the roof and ground outside my sliding glass door. ah, so nice, now i want coffee. the streets are all flooded and there's madness outside. anyway, then i did basic errands running to the post office, bank, etc. I worked out and hit the bookstore and bought a new book to read for my trip to NY next week for easter. It looks like good plane reading. Today I'm going to donate blood, i'm really starting to run out of things to do if I've signed up to donate blood.

laurel canyon dog park: controversy rages on...
okay so as you know i've starting writing for this newspaper, the cayon news, solely to get clips of my writing for future writing in magazines and newspapers, but my first story as been blighted with the addition of a quote from someone who wasn't me, so now my story IS RETARDED SOUNDING!! and i didn't add this quote, but i wasn't going to mention it until i got an email from one of the peopel i interviewed who is on the laurel canyon association and thought the quote was innapropriate and inflamed, get in line, buddy so did i. so i had to write back explaining that I didn't add that quote in my original story and i personally think the quote was besides the point, so here's what he wrote back
"Your editor should fight the tendency to whip up
controversy when the issue is really about finding sound and reasonable
solutions to problems placed on us by our very short sighted City
founders."
HOT DAMN! so then i wrote my editor and expressed my frustration of this and how it makes me look bad and ruining my sources and she said the person who added the quote was the photographer, THE WHO? DOES THE PHOTOGRAPHER KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HOW TO WRITE A NEWS STORY. did the photographers parents pay an large sum of money for an out of state student to go to the university of colorado and get a journalism degree. AHHH NO! so hows about we leave the writing to the writers people so i don't get hate email! i'm not even getting paid for this shit! meanwhile i had submitted my own pictures, in thsi age of digi pics, i don't need a photographer on my stories, even it's only for the fact that i don't want him adding shit to my stories.!! AHHHH

grilled cheese invitational
oh my God, last night was so much fun! i love doing totally random things in this city, or anywhere, but the grilled cheese invitational has to be on the top of the random things to do list. Ok, so my friend spancer who i've worked with for a long time has a bunch of friends who every year have the grilled cheese invitational. what is it you ask? it's basically a grilled cheese competition with 3 categories: missionary (you compete using only bread and american cheese) kama sutra (you can really mix it up with differnent types of bread and all sorts of cheese and add salsa or peppers or anything you want, one guy added lucky charms cereal in his) and then dessert category which has a funny name but i don't remember it. this is my second time attending and a few years ago, spancer competed and came in 3rd in the missionary. this year he competed in the missionary category and each "sandwich" was in the shape of a cube withc bread on all sides and cheese goodness in the middle. so basically outside people are grilling up with sandwiches and then get a cheese runner to run into the finished product inside where there are testers (thats where me and my friends come in) and put the sandwich (small ones, just bite size taste test) on a paper plate and attached to the plate is a scorecard, so you eat the sammich, score it and then a helper hands the score card to the people behind the computers who enter the scores into the computer to determine a winner, im' tellng you this thing runs so smoothly. there had to be like 150 there eating and cooking and just hanging out. I gave up sweets for lent so i couldn't try the dessert category, but some of the sandwiches were so fucking good, like one guy used date walnut bread that had raisins in it and and a funky cheese, but it rocked and another person had really thick bread and cheese and then dumped red hot salsa on the sandwhich and cayenne pepper too and holy moly was that hot! then another one i tasted was just a bunch of different cheeses between bread but the bread was in the shape of a breadstick, whatever it was, it was amazing. i really didn't have a bad sammy in the whole lot and i tried like 10 sammy's. anyway, after that, i went to my friend tal's 30th birthday, also downtown, and michael vartan from alias was there as was fred savage from the wonder years and fran dresher from the nanny, and then a bunch of t.v. execs and writers, a very interesting mix. it was at this restaurant called ciudad and it has a patio outfront and it was an awesome space and free drinks and food and the cake looked good but once again giving up sweets for lent has decreased my eating fun the past month. ugh, anyway, it was an awesome night! and seeing as the grilled cheese and tal's party was free, i didn't spend much other than valet parking and gas.
oh and happy birthday cathy!!

canyon news
hey here is the link to my article in this week's canyon news, big big major newspaper here in so. cal, im sure you're heard of it
http://www.canyon-news.com/artman/publish/article_4235.php
also, the little quote from the 21 year old from sherman oaks was not part of my original story i submitted and isn't written right and they must've added it in even though i had quote in there from a dog owner that basically said the same thing. so now i'm pissed, this weeks topic: the beverly hills hilton is thinking of expanding, issue to go before the city council of bevhills this tuesday night and sarah mac is on the case and will be there!

wednesday
well, i have been keeping so busy during my time off, seriously, i work all day every day it feels so good doing something. I really thought i'd be watching tv all day and having nothing to do,, but that hasn't been the case at all. the past few days i've been working on my old boss's pilot for FOX. i hope the show goes cause i would do anything to work with these people again. basically i've been going in to see the rehersals and then they have a group of writers they've worked with before and we sit around and help them with jokes or story stuff. it's been fun being in a writers room again. so that films friday night, so that's something to look forward to. also, today i had another meeting at my volunteer place with the girl i'm mentoring to write a mini-movie. today the teacher covered the basics of how to write a scene. next we start working one on one with our assigned kid. then also today, i had to write an article about a dog park in LA that the community surrounding the area wants to change into a more family oreiented park. I am writing for a newspaper called the canyon news here in LA, one that is local to my neighborhood, anyway, i don't get paid, but it's something to do each week. I had to go to the dog park this morning and interview some dog owners and while i was there, the MTV show Next was filming some dating show, which was werid because it was wed. morn, but i guess the guy who's going on the date and his dog picked the girl he wanted. sounds lame. anyway, i just wrote and submitted my article. its my first one and i think the paper comes out on saturday and then goes online on sunday if you want to check out

instant films
so sunday night was the instant film festival and my filmed turned out pretty great! a bunch of my friends came which i was so happy about becuase this studio was downtown and no one ever goes down there. We got there and immediately hit the bar, they have a bar set up and there was a dj playing some tunes and i ran into my cast and my director and a few people from 70s show who i didn't know were involved in this. then around 8:30pm, the film festival started and the first 2 films were really bad and i was like, that's awesome, mine is def. better than those two, which if you're not a writer you might not understand that thinking, but you never want to be thought of as a bad writer. unfortuanately, my director turned out not to do anything creative wtih my script, which was disappointing, but out of the 7 movies, i can honestly say mine was the 3rd best (my friends all agreed, it was def. not the best, which is fine with me since it was my first time.) it also felt like some of these films were conceived before we pulled the words out of the hat which is lame, it's supposed to be concieved the night of. you can see my film on the internet in a few weeks, i'll let you know and post the site.

inside man
airight, i have recovered from my writing all nighter, i was so exhausted. so i went home and wen tto bed around 5am saturday morning, then got up at 7am and drove downtown to drop off my script. all the actors and directors were there and they started the selection process/ Out of the 7 directors, 6 were new to instant films, so i was relieved when I got the only guy who'd done it before. He pulled my name out of a hat and then pulled the cast out (3 women and a man) and we went off and had a read of the script. It was pretty trippy hearing the words being said, but also disappointing because they were reading it cold and weren't hitting the jokes, so it didn't sound as funny as I had heard it, but i knew that since they didn't know they're characters yet or anything that it was going to turn out fine with enough rehearsal. i then left, went to my friend amy's house, she made me french toast while also gettig her 1 year old ready for a birthday party all with her husband out of town and then i went home and went to sleep. That night i went to sushi with amy and bernadette. AMy has the Los Angeles magazine's 10 best sushi list and is working her way through it. I wasn't that impressed with this place, i've been to a few of the others on the list, and was much more impressed. at sushi i saw this guy who i worked with on the show jesse like 6 years ago and i haven't seen him since. anyway, he walked in the door and i was like oh my god thats noel bright! now you have to understand, and i'm just imagining this to be true, but while i'm older than i was while working at jesse, i'm much hotter, much more fit and not as fat. I have gotten rid of my baby fat or as i like to call it, my actual fat. and noel is totally cute, albeit a little cocky seeing as his uncle created Friends. Anyway, i was not his type a few years ago is what i'm trying to say,. but the other night, while he was sitting with I can only imagine was his girlfriend, he kept looking over at me. now yes he could be looking to figure out how he knows me, but i think he got it at least one of the first 10 times and i like to think he was checking me out, but i will never know for sure as i didn't say anything to him and just left when our dinner was over, mostly because we were running to catch a movie. Perhaps i'll run into him again soon and all myquestions will be answered.

insant films update #5
it's 4 am, i'm wired, but i'm done well, as done as i'm willing to be, i don't want to work anymore. it's pretty bad, hopefully i'll have a great cast and director who will turn this turd into gold. the ending is lame...
stay tuned....
stay tuned....
insant films update #4
it's now 3am and i'm starting to meltdown, hearing things outside the office and freaking out about my coffee intake, like if i go to bed at 4am will i fall asleep b/c of all this coffee, i'm not sure i will. but i need sleep. i also need an ending to my movie STILL. I HAVE ONE, but it's rough. should i stay up until 8am to finesse it? I'M LOSING MY MIND
insant films update #3
okay, it's almost 1 am and I still have no ending to this thing. I've already walked to coffee bean and back, now it's too late to walk around this neighborhood alone. Although I'm across the street from the studio where we shot my t.v. show, i could go over there and roam the empty lot at least that would be safe, but I'm not sure roaming the lot will help me find the ending to my film, which between you and you and you and me, it feels more like a play, which is a bad thing since it's supposed to be a movie. I won't mention that to the director. maybe the end of my movie can be found in this weeks issue of people magazine...

insant films update #2
it's 10:12pm and i'm on page 2! and at the bottom of page 2. now, here's the problem, what do my characters say now? anyone out there? help! i want to get my coffee now, but maybe i'll wait for another hour, i don't actually need it now, but i'm a champion procrastinator.
insant films update #1
I have a feeling i will be updating through out the night as I plan on being up all night, although, i think the coffee bean across the street closes at midnight, so i'll have to take a break to hit it later. anyway, the noun that i picked was "sap" and the adjective is "allergic" or maybe the adjective was sap? i don't know, my english teacher friend cathy would be a better person to ask. anyway, the theme of this instant film is SPRING so using those 2 words and the theme of spring, I'm supposed to write a movie.... wish me luck.
instant films
so it's about 9pm here in LA on a friday night and i'm sitting at my roomates office computer writing. What am i doing you might be asking, a single woman as myself should be out in the clubs, dry humping some 25 year old and getting it on! well, a few months ago my friend recomended me to this thing called instant films. earlier tonight, i went to downtown LA, a trip not made by most Angelenos, to the LA film center and met up with 6 other writers to pick a noun and an adjective out of a hat. I now have to use these words as inspiration to write a 6 page movie script that has to be written by tomorrow morning at 8am. Actually earlier as I have to be in downtown LA (that'll be twice this year) at 8am. So right now instead of writing the script, I am writing in my blog. so then i hand the script in and director pulls it out of a hat and the director gets 4 actors and goes off and shoots it all day saturday. then its edited on sunday and we have a film festival on sunday night. the film when completed will be put up on the internet so all of you who can't make the festival in LA on sunday night can still see it. Below is all the instant film info. They do this like 8 times a year and have done 20 of these festivals so far.
The Instant Films Story
Instant Films takes all the conventional wisdom about filmmaking and turns it on its head. Taking advantage of new technologies Instant Films creates a intense and exciting environment where filmmakers don’t have time for pretension, ego or second thoughts.
Here’s how it works:
DAY ONE
At 8pm Friday night, 7 writers each select two random words and a cast breakdown (for example 2 woman, 2 men). Each writer has 12 hours to complete an eight page script which incorporates all of the above.
DAY TWO/THREE
At 8am Saturday morning, the actors and directors assemble and the writers deliver their scripts.
The directors randomly pick one of the completed scripts.
A cast is chosen randomly from the pool of actors.
Production begins. The Directors have less than two days to shoot and edit their films using the cast they were assigned.
SHOWTIME
Directors bring their finished films to the theater by 6pm Sunday.
At 8pm the films are shown to a live audience!
Instant Filmmaking is about invention, inspiration, innovation and insanity in the face of what didn’t seem possible just a few hours before. Normal filmmaking is about careful planning and design, carefully crafted scripts and cautious casting decisions. Instant Filmmaking is about instantaneous creativity and on the spot decisions. Casting is random, the budget is zero, writing is one draft and everything is done in as little time as possible.
The funny thing is that the end result is sometimes more entertaining than movies that were years in the making.
But we are not trying for quality, the rules are not set up to ensure quality, we are trying for an atmosphere of playfulness, ingenuity and sweat that is the fountainhead of creativity. Past participants have said it is the most fun they have ever had and the experience left them inspired and energized. If you can make a movie in 48 hours you can do anything!.

corbin bernsen part 2
okay so this is not the first time in my blog i've spoken about corbin bernsen. as loyal followers will recall, i once wrote about how this idiot was jogging in the middle of mullholland drive, well, not the middle per se, but out in the road on a blind corner, and i almost hit him and it turns out it was corbin bernsen. Anyway, this morning, i go to the chiropractors and lo and behold, in his jogging outfit and sporting an awesome body figure, was mr. bernsen himself. i couldn't believe my very eyes. and then my chiropractor comes out and says "corbin, come on in." which is strange, i mean I work with ashton and topher and wilmer and call them by their first names, but its weird to hear other people call celebs by their first names. today i went to the pilot table read for one of my friends shows, then i stayed after and helped re-write the pilot. it's actually really good and it's only going to get better. it was fun to get back into a writers room today with people i've never written with before. other than me, everyone there were seasoned tv veterans, guys who've created their own shows and gotten them on the air and ran them, and then there's me a lower level writer, im' like what the hell am i doing here? anywho, i'll be working again on friday and monday and tues, so that's something to look forward to! went to yoga tonight, but i might have been a little careless in my eating this week and that might be reflected on the weight watchers scale come friday afternoon!
tax day
okay, so i owe an insane amount of money to the tax man due to an error by my company, nothing i can do about it, but my tax lady is an awesome accountant. she really is, and shes so freakin nice. The only one thing thats a little strange about her is her love of weiner dogs. weiner dogs you ask? i'm not exactly sure what isup with weiner dogs, but she loooooves them i guess, i only can tell by how her office is decorated. I sat there for 1.5 hours and while she entered in all my info and came up with some creative tax adjustments, i stared at the vast collection of weiner dog parapahnelia. here's what she's got in her small office:
weiner dog mugs, statues, cookie jar, cards, wall of weiner dog framed pictures and weiner dog silleuttes (sp?), weiner dog framed cartoons, comics, stuffed animals (plural), weiner dog books, light switch frame, key chain holder, paper weights (3), pcutres, framed articles, faux magazine cover - like when your family went to the boardwalk on the jersey shore and your dad took a pciture and was put on the cover of forbes magazine - yeah one of those, wooden blocks that look like a weiner dog and look like could've been made by her 7 yr. old niece, but was more likely made by a 52 year old artist in santa barbara, and a few more weird weiner dog statues. phew! that's a lot of weiner doggin.
celebrity sighting: ask and you shall recieve, yesterday i lamented that I hadn't seen a celebrity in ages and bam, a few hours later, i saw candace bergin hiking with her dog.

i'm so borin
i'm sorry my life is so boring these days. i've been out and about in all the typical celebrity haunts, the newsroom on roberston, Kitson on robertson, the center for yoga on larchmont, etc and i haven't come across one celebrity to talk about on my blog. this is disappointing. tomrrow i'm working on a pilot, so i'll be back on CBS radford studio where my show was filmed and hopefully i'll see someone of note. today i'm meeting with some girl from my hometown who i have no idea who she is or how she got my emaill, but she just moved out here and wants to be in the entertainment industry, and since i'm the only one from my hometown out here, i'm the go-to person when anyone needs help and i'm more than happy to give it as i didn't have anyone helping me and it was so hard, so i'm happy to help anyone avoid the hell i went through when i first came out here.

sunday supper
dinner last night was really great. it all worked out. turns out the restaurant was confused and only 1 friend of mine called to add onto the reservation. the food and company was amazing, i think i'm gonna get a few people... a few only, and do it again next weekend, the food was that freakin' good. italian food is a perfect combo with a night of red wine and the sopranos. I also worked out furiously yesterday, but i'm not eating that great so i'm worried when i weigh in on friday i might gain this week. i'm not eating bad like candy cause i gave all that up for lent, but pretzels are my weakness.

weekend high
so i had fun this weekend which is good cause during the week, it's just usually me and myself and i, and i while i like my own company more than the average person likes being alone, it is starting to wear me down. so i was feeling blue at the end of last week, but this weekend boosted my spirits. i didn't do anything too crazy, i had soccer on saturday but wasn't feeling well and sucked big time, so now i'm totally embarraassed by this performance so much so that i'm thinking of quitting. i missed a few balls due to dizziness and had to take myself out of the game. saturday night, my friend (and former dating guy) bryan and his friends were hanging out and invited me over and we drank beer and played charades. I was so excited to see him cause he has been living in NY the past 5 months and i've missed him terribly. i really adore him, even though i dumped him 2 years ago. tonight i made reservations for 8 at this restuarant that has sunday supper for $15 and $10 bottles of wine. I had sent out an email a few days ago garnering interest and so made the reservation for 8 because if you have more than 10 people they charge you more and change the menu. well.... apparently last night my friend liz casually mentioned to melissa this girl who was out with us that we were doing this and i guess melissa called and added a bunch of people to my reservation! then my friend andy called and said she was bringing her friend and i explained to her the situation and she called the restaurant and added her friend anyway and so now the restaurant is pissed at me cause they thought i was the one calling and constantly changing the reservation!!!! HOW RUDE ARE THESE PEOPLE, I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!! So i called the restuarant to see what was going on and they said the reserv. was now at 13!!!!! so i have no idea who's coming to my little dinner and i just wanted a small dinner with some friends and this girl melissa and who knows who she is bringing is now coming and i'm super pissed. totally ruined my night.

happy st. patricks day
quote of the day: "can you make her softer? she's vulnerable." -- my actor roomie giving me acting notes on scenes i was rehearsing with him.
so if you're a writer in this town and you have writers guild insurance, you probably know about the massage scam. Basically if you go to the pain relief center which is a chiropractor place and get your back adjusted, you can get an hour massage for a measly 25 bucks! oh yeah. rarely do i take advantage of this, maybe like twice in a year, but yesterday i went and as i was standing outside the door waiting to go in, i saw the massuer's schedule of upcoming and past appointments and it was all people who i've written with, a wife of a person i wrote with and then another writer who i'm good friends with! that's hilarious. forget spending $130 for a massage at spa mystique, i'm sticking with this shenanigan. last night i went to this awesome wine bar with karen, jake and bernadette. i told karen i would drive, but only if she allowed me to drive her mini cooper, aw yeah, it fucking rocked, i've never been inside one before. today is st. patricks day, not sure what i'm going to do just yet, but seeing as i'm still sober, i'm doing something wrong. gotta run to weight watchers.

lazy, i am
yesterday morn i had bfast with one of my agents, melissa. I hadn't seen her in a few years as she's not my main agent, but we're friendly. anyway, during the course of the meal, we both dropped a few f-bombs and s words, she more than me, and the lady sitting next to us was giving us the most disgusted dirty looks every time the f word dropped. it was really funny becuase once i noticed she was annoyed, i stop swearing, but melissa didn't know and i was laughing every time she cussed. such a fun game. my volunteering went well, i've been paired up with a girl named nazneen, say what? i know, not one of these 10 kids had a name any of us had ever recognized, and i knkow you're thinking thats racist, but most of the kids were white with names like ilsa and mateai. as you know my roomate is an actor and is currently auditioning for pilot season and i've become his acting partner rehearsing with him all day long, it's exhausting. It's 1030am and i'm lying in bed, not sure where the day is going to take me. i know i'm going to yoga at 430pm with amy but i have no plans until then. quite honestly i don't even know what day it is since i have no where to be ever. ok, i need to get coffee and see what celeb i see at the coffee bean and tea leaf.

did anyone else think jessica alba was emaciated?
did any of you watch the oscars and jessica alba came out and was so ridiculously skinny? that's what i want to look like. anyway, i saw her yesterday at kings road cafe in w. hollywood where i was having a nice daytime vanilla latte. so enjoyable. anyway, she was there with some friends and she was actually eating. whether or not it stayed in her stomach at a later time, i'm no judge, but she was at least picking at her food. i felt like, okay we eat at the same place, we're both skinny (not me yet but getting there) yesterday i worked out another hour and again this a.m. now i'm in bed, in pain from working out so much. today i start my volunteering for "young storytellers." it's a program where writers volunteer with kids in a underfunded arts programs and go into the school during lunch 1 hour a week and mentor kids who are writing mini screenplays. and then at the end of the program, the kids do a showcase and huge actors come and read their work, i'm talking like matthew perry, hank azaria have come in the past. it's really a great idea and i'm so excited to start today. im' giving back, people. i'll let you know what my kid is like.

j. netics
so i worked out again at the j netics place in the valley where you do it for 30 mins and it's so intense and insane. so i'm there and who walks in, sheila e, i guess she's some sort of famous singer from the 80s and she's slim and built. i just googled her and she didn't used to look that way. anyway, also working out is this tv star from the UPN, his nameis Flex and he's on some show called, i think one on one anyway, he worked out with the owner J and i worked out with his wife who wasn't in that good of shape, which was actually good cause the teacher couldn't push us that hard hehehehe. then erica and i went to see the worst movie ever made and concieved. it's called Aquamarine and it's about a fucking mermaid. now i saw splash and llooovvveeed that movie, but this one is so so so so so so so so so bad. so bad! don't see it, i'm sure none of you had even thought you might. erica made me, or she suggested it at least and i was like, why not, ihave nothing to do today except avoid writing.

swedish olympic snowboarder
if you scroll down to the my pictures from the torino 2006 winter olympcis, you will see a picture of Daniel Biveson who is a swedish snowboarder. I just read that a swedish olympic snowboarder died and was worried it was daniel cause he was so nice and gracious when, i, a loud obnoxious cow bell ringing american, sitting directly in front of him after he competed, asked for a picture with him, which is not on the site as emma has not emailed me pictures yet. thankfully, he didn't pass away, but i am sad for the one who did.
quote of the day: "I don't wait well." sarah mac
last night i was at my friend janae's party. she's married to an actor who has lots of actor friends so i was excited to go and meet some cute boys, albeit actors. for those of you who don't know the stereotype of actors, well, they're very self involved, selfish, only talk about themselves, see a pattern here? janae's husband isn't like this, but he's the exception to the rule. anyway, long story short, i didn't talk to anyone of these guys, mostly b/c they weren't as cute as i was hoping for. so around midnight, i texted jake to find out where he was. he had invited me to party with the band, Jett, or Jet, not sure how they spell it, and i have no idea who this band is, but apparently they're semi famous and he wanted me to meet up with them. he replies they are at the cabana club, which i've been to, but only when i was on a list and was escorted right in, none of this waiting in a long line, especially when it's 39 degrees out, that's right, it's totally freezing here in LA, 39 fucking degrees. anyway, i texted him back and asked if there's a line, he said one a mile long, but he could get me in, this seems highly unlikely. do you have those friends who can promise you entry into clubs, real easy. it's never ever easy, it's alwasys ends up with me yelling at some doofus bouncer who thinks he's more important than the almighty Lord himself cause he's dressed in all black, holding a clipboard and has an earpiece in. i often wonder if this earpiece is actually attached to anything, I mean for God's sakes, he's a bouncer, not protecting the dali llama. so i texted back Jake, that's ok, i don't wait well. which is true, i am spoiled and i like things when i want them and have no room for anything else. so i came home and watched SNL where my friend will forte, whos' been a cast member on SNL for like 4 years, did a great song during the news about shites, kurds and sunnis, very funny!

big change
as of today, i'm no longer allowed to talk about will or running into his friends. if that happens, i wont speak of it as the only way to get over someone is if you stop talking about them to friends or the blogosphere. now if i run into him and think my friends will want to hear the update, then thats okay, cause at least that is interesting news. anyway, i gotta hit the showers and get ready for my friend's party.
time flies when you have no job
so i haven't had time to update even though i ain't got no job. it's strange how my days seem to fill up quickly. once i get up,. workout, then come home and shower, it's like 1pm and time to meet someone for lunch. i've had lunch with bernadette, monique and erica, while also grabbing coffee with countless others. oh and my workouts have been a little insane. twice this week i worked out 2 times in one day! totally insane right? i also did this workout by this guy named jay who used to be homeless and now is totally buff and has a gym and intense workout regime. i went yesterday a.m. with erica and have never worked out so hard in 30 mins in my life. there are all these before and after pics of regular people who have come in, but these people aren't just skinny now, they have some serious 6 packs and look like competitive body builders!! now i would love to join this place, but it's sooooo freakin' expensive and also it's in the west valley, so that's like a 30 min drive each way. no thankyou. however, i'm going again on monday cause it's free. the woman who trained me made me do crazy sit ups, all these squats, bicep curls, squats a different way, shoulder presses, squats another different way, i mean i can honestly say if i went to this place, my entire body would change which is what ii wnat, but for half, no a quarter of the price. i won't even say what erica pays, you would lose your mind, but her husband is rich tv and movie writer, and right now they are rolling in it. let's just say, the price is more than some of my friends who don't live in LA mortgages!!! so i'm totally into operation emmaciation. by may 20, 2006, my 32nd birthday, i want to be emaciated, that's 2.5 months away. i workout like crazy, eat pretty clean and i'm really trying to do it for real! although right now i'im exhausted for working out every day, so today i just went on a 40 min. hike. no big. but since i joined weight watchers, i've lost 5.5 pounds and even more inches. my skinny pants actually fit me, so that's strange. i'm not sure with all this weight lifting how many pounds are going to drop off, but as long as i'm slim in the pants dept. thats all i care about. this morning after b'fast with michaela, i was walking to my car when i ran into will's roomate. so for those of you playing along at home, that's 3 of his friends in 5 days. so i've decided not to hang out or frequent any bar/restaurant/mall east of la cienega, that's my new idea in order to avoid seeing any of his friends, or God forbid running into him. last night my freind keisha and i went out bar hopping and had the best time ever. it had been ages since i've seen her and sensing my sadness about being reminded that i was dumped b/c i run into his friends everywhere i turn, she took me out and was my chauffer and we had the best time catching up and jumping from bar to bar to check out fresh male talent and let me say this, i was very pleased with what is out there to reel in, meow! i'm ready to get back out there, especially now that operation emmaciation can only help with me landing a man!

why i prefer long distance relationships
soooo, tonight i went out with jake (who was supposed to go to austrailia last night, got on the plane and then got off for some lame reason) and a few other people and sitting at the table next to me, one of will's friends. this guy has like 5 friends and i run into them constantly,. it's so freaking anoying, i ran into one yesterday and one today. i've only been back into town for 5 days!!!

not that easy
okay, so i have driven all over this fucking city looking for coffee place or somewhere that had free internet to no avail. and what the hell was all that talk about with my friends who were like, just steal it, just steal it, how the fuck do you do that? it ain't working. so now i have all these pics from torino i want to put up and can't get them on. anyway, last night i went to the awesome oscar party my friends had and ran into other friend paul whos party i was at when i met the ex wills friends who set us up. paul told me that wills friends, kevin and stacey, moved to NY which i knew they were doing, but didnt know when. so upon hearing this, i return to my spinning class that stacey went to and i stopped going to cause i didn't want to run into her cause that would be a reminder to me that i was a dumped loser. so this morning i go and who do i see, yes, stacey, i'm like fuck! so we end up talking after class and the first thing out of my mouth "i thought you moved" she said "i'm moving tomorrow" FUCK i have the worst timing. so we talked and i did not bring up the ex even though a bunch of my friends afterwards were like, i can't believe you didn't ask about him, you have so much self control to which i responded "not when i pass a gelato bar in italy. then after that interaction which reminded me of the ex, all day i wanted to call the ex, cause i am a dumped loser. anyway, i'm sure by tomorrow i will forget all about him again and continue living my life. got coffee with my cutie friend jake today, he was sleeping with some woman whos husband was in a coma and recently got dumped by her. i personally can't keep track of this relationship, every single time i talk to him, literally, they're together, then they're not, together, not, together, not. so just to keep everyone else up to date, as of 3/6/06 at 3:48pm PST they're not together. apparently getting a divorce from your husband who just got out of a coma is a stressful situation that warrants a break up with the guy you had an affair with who lives 1500 miles away.

bored
okay, so all ive been doing since i got back from my non stop party train is sleeping, which i guess i needed. i'm now officially totally unemployed, have nothing to do all day long except hang out with my friends who have babies. i need to be writing a script too, but am stuck on what i should write about. yesterday at soccer, we kicked major ass, 6-0. this season we hired a coach and got killer uniforms and got 2 new girls who are way better than i am. so this is helping our morale and we no longer look or feel like the bad news bears. i slide tackled this girl which is when you cant get to the ball fast enough so you slide into it to beat the other person going for it, so i did that which doesn't hurt on grass, but on plastic turf, it hurts like a motha! so i have a huge raspberry on my ass, and last night could barely put pressure on it. i'm a retard. tonight i'm going to my friends steve and moniques to watch the academy awards. that should be fun. monique is an amazing cook, and even though i trying to lose weight (and doing quite well, i might add, the next time any of you see me, im' going to be more kate moss than sarah mac) i intend on eating it all. however, i gave up sweets for lent, so that puts a damper on certain festivities!

back in town
just got back in town after a very long journey. i'm exhausted, but i'm still going to my soccer game today. yesterday i spent the entire day at the mac store because my new computer that is not so new since i got it in october and never turned it on, was having problems. turns out., they sent it to me broken, macs suck. it wasn't broken so much as this model had something wrong with the battery and it coulnd't keep a charge. i wanted to post pics, but i'm at home right now and only have dial up and its going to take a while for the pics to upload so i'll go to a free wi fi place this weekend and upload them quickly. i brought 2 cameras over there cause i bought a new camera from j and r music world and they sent me my new cam with a dead battery and no charger, so i had to break out my old camera. so i bought a new battery which died after one use in torino so half my pics are on that cammy and i have to get a charger to charge the battery before i can get the pics off the cammy. ugh. anyway, dial up sucks, i'm so used to fast connection with my work computer but since i ain't got no job no more, i have to just deal. anyway, i gotta run to soccer. peace out.

where am i
okay so i had grand hopes of getting up early, catching a bus from siena to san gigananmo totally spelled wrong, spending the morning there, catching a bus to florence then a train to torino. so, heres how that went. i got up early, caught the bus to san giganamo, rode on that bus for 3.5 hours exactly, ended up back in siena, got on a bus to florence. what happened you ask? i actually have no idea, i asked the guy half way through if we had gotten to san G yet, of course i dont speak italian, but i think he got the gist of it, he said we were going to the town center right now, and then 1.5 hour later im back in siena, we never stopped anywhere that said the towns name or anything, we kept going through rotary after rotary with the arrows pointing to san G so i figured we were still on our way there or at least heading in that direction. well, now im back in florence and its raining and really cold so im trying warm up in this internet cafe. i should go walk around some more, hopefully not get lost...

bonjourno
today is fat tuesday, which is exactly how i feel after having eaten everything i see in this town of siena. gelato(how many weight watchers points is that) this crazy pasta, a specialty here that is as thick and ià m not exagerating, as a tube of chapstick and so much much much more! thankfully ive been walking lot, mostly to wine bars, but still, its exercise, right. anyway, like i said i slept for 15 hours last night and i had to leave my hotel right now at 730pm in order to avoid falling asleep again, which i almost did. today in the main piazza they had the most awesome circus carnevale party with bands and circus people and all the little kids dressed up in different costumes and they were spraying each other with silly string, a few of them got me, but i didnà t care, it was awesome! i also went shopping and hung out with a few of my friends leather boots, still looking for the perfect pair, and learned my favorite italian word SALDI which means sale. i have been shopping a lot, got the cutest miss sixty shirt on saldi. anyway, tomorrow im getting up early and goiNg to another tuscan town before heading back into florence and then a train to torrino. cant believe my trip is coming to an end. i think this internet place is closing seeing as theyve drawn the metal gate, turned off the lights and are now staring at me. gotta go CIAO CIAO PREGO
alive and well
so i watched the closing ceremonies at the USA house and from where it is situated on the PO river, you could see the fireworks going off at the stadium down the street. we had a nice dinner and hung out for a few hours wiht a few bottles of wine, a recurring theme in this trip. this update is going to be short as the computer is flashing that my time is running out. anyway, got up early the next day to catch a train to florence, everyone else left, i'm all by myself. walked around florence for a few hours where i met my new friends leater boots, yeah, i need to by a pair real bad, they're calling my name. then waited until after siesta to spend $100 at the cosa bella store on some much needed sexy underwear, i think that bought me 3 or 4 pairs. then i caught a bus to siena in tuscany where i got a hotel room, roamed the streets, had a yummy dinner and then slept for 15 hours straight. i just woke up and had a cappucino and need to sleep more, but that will do me for now. the town is so cute and amazing, i must run to see it.

i'm never sober here
here's a pic of my curling lover/bronze medalist.
okay so last night we finally got into the sports illustrated party, but not without much sarah mac fanfare. so i realized 2 pf my friends who were on the list went in on another list, so i got emma and matija in, but we still needed a way in for me... enter bode miller and his entourage including his agent who is julie mancuso's agent and who i partied with the night before. so i turn to emma and matija and said, go in, i'll take care of myself and i went up to them and was like hey, can i go in with you guys. and they were all sure, so emma and matija took the passes and went in with the commoners and i waited with the entourage. well, we go in the VIP way and its the whole red carpet thing and they announce bode "ladies and gentleman, please welcome US skier bode miller.... and he walks across the stage, flashbulbs flashbulbs flashbulbs and he goes across and i start over by myself when i hear the annoucer say... and "and bode miller's friends!" and i'm standing on the red carpet platform, all alone with a video camera in my face!!! emma and matija were just coming throiught the metal detectors and saw all this and were freaking dying! so we totally partied all night and met up with all my friends inside and around 3 am we left and emma and i promptly got into a fight with some other people waiting for a cab. words were exchanged, i got into the front seat, they got into the back, neither one of us was getting out, more words, the cab driver was like what have i got myself into, all to the delight of christie and matija who watched us sprint up the road to fight over a taxi!! then we got back to the hotel around 3:30, but emma and mat's bus to the airport was at 5:15, so of course we couldn't go to bed, so we walked to a bar down the street and got drunk with a table of italian men who spoke no english and drank until 4:30am. one of the italians spoke spanish so i would talk to him and then translate into english, not very well, as i think they think emma and matija are members of some sort of perverted incest family! so much fun so much fun so much fun. i can't stand it!!!! oh and while at the party i ran into shawn my curling on again off again husband, anyway, i think we're on again. i talked to the guys on his team and started to walk away and he yells "what, sarah you're not going to say hello," i went up to explain the awkward reception i had gotten by everyone earlier in the night but we made uop. i think i might go to boston for the curling world champion thinigy, anyone want to join?

okay the best night ever
last night i went out like i said i was at the usa house with julie mancuso and her gold medal. i was so drunk after stalking the curlers and their friends and family for a few hours, suffice to say shawn and i will not be marrying as quite frankly i think i scared him. anyway, after the usa house, i left with julie and her agent and a few other peeps and went to an irish bar where her entrance ticket was her gold medal. the manager hooked us up with a table and round after round of drinks were brought. the poor italians who were originally at our table who got pushed to the end of the table must have been like what is going on? whatev, they got some free drinks and shots and fries. we did this drink with beamish and shots of baileys and downed it, very strange. julie got up on the bar and started dancing and the crowd was chanting mancuso over and over. people were taking pictures, i was off with the italians doing shots, it was a crazy crazy night. seriously one of the most fun nights of my life. i partied with a gold medal winner and like 5 other people!!! so much fun. today i went up to see bode compete, we got there watched like 10 skiers do the slalom, bode went, got DQed and we got up and left. now we're at the usa house trying to sneak into the sports illustrated party that is going off next door. they thought i was an ahtlete , obviously, look at me, when i came out of the usa house and then when my name wasn't on the list, they were like sorry. so now we're waiting for my friends to come over. I'M HAVING THE MOST AMAZING TIME EVER!!! LAST NIGH before i went out, i saw chad hendrick win the silver at the speed skating 10000 meter. that was cool. hung out with derek parra for a while, hes so freakin nice. my life is weird. i'm on the hunt for the boyfriend of the night
guest writer emma cale
So as you have already read, I am here at the olympics here with Sarah. Right now we are at the USA house in Torino. Yesterday we went to the torino with Sarah and tooled around for a while. Then we went back to Cesna for the bob sledding competion. Very cool! The best part is we met 2 secret agents who were sent here to protect the Americans, just in case. Then back to the hotel back and back to the Irish Igoo, the American bar is Sesterie, where Sarah met here second boyfriend of the games. While we were there we met the infamous Paulo again. He confirmed his identity when he scrolled through our digital camera and came upon the picture of him and Sarah making nice :) After a couple of drinks. O.K. maybe a few more than just a couple the lights came on both inside and out (It was 5AM) We headed home, with Tina's coworker. We suddenly found much amazement by making snow angels and pushing each other in the snow. We had car to take us home but the alcohol told us that we should walk up the hill. We met Johnny we has a tent on the side of the mountain, helmets with lights were included. So we went drunken sleigh riding. When we could no longer feel our hands and feet, we decided to continue our hike back to the hotel up the mountain. The hotel conceirge was less than thrilled to see 5 snow covered drunks. Oh by the way there was another Paulo sighting today in town.

omg
right now i'm at the usa house for athletes and their families only. i'm partying with the curling bronze medalists and the gold medalist julie manucuso who won in skiing. free drinks, free dinner, it's amazing. i#m so payche. right now i'm drunk and sitting with one of the guys from the curling team and he's so cute and awesome andi'm in love with shawn from the curling team and i#mgoing to marry him. you can't get in here unless you have a pass, i got one from my friend. i'm by myself as these other girls left to go to the nbc hotel
party
all the athletes do here is party. that's all i know. last night we went to the american house, AKA the usa ski house and partied with these australian cross country skiiers. I fell in love with paul murray and i fully intended on marrying him cause he's the hotetest guy i've ever met, seriosuly, i'm in love. and couldn't shut up about it. i left early cause i was so tired from the cumulative nights of going out and drinking and so tina went home with him! anyway, now i'm back in torrino and heading up to the mtns. tomorrow for bode miller's last event. right now i'm at the nike hospitality house and wayne gretzky is here and so is derek parra the speed skater who won gold in salt lake. there's free food and coffee and the tvs and xboxes and ping pong tables and nike stuff everywhere. i'm drinking a fabulous cappucino and watching the today show. i was at the set earlier today but it was cold and rainy so i went to the hotel and took a nap.

where do i begin
okay, so ià m having the best time here. yesterday i got a ride up into the mountains and met emma and matija for the mens parrallel snowboaring slalom finals. it was the most amazing day and we had great nike seats. what ive seen here and whats so awesome is all the fans from around the world who love their athletes more than anything. at the snowboarding the slovenians were going off singing songs and chanting and holding flags, they were amzing. then there was me with my cowbell, oh yes, i have a cowbell that i got at the snowbaording venue, and my u.s.a. shirt and ià m the only one representing for our american snowboarder. the night before at the speed skating, the dutch, dressed all in orange, had a 10 piece band complete with tuba players and a few tromboners, played national songs and these people were filled with so much pride. i guess speed skating is like their national sport and the entire stadium was filled with the ornage dressed dutch. we sat behind team chad, chad hendricks friends and family who was supposed to take the gold that night, but instead got the bronze and some italian guy skated like crazy to the delight of the hometown fans and won the gold. my friend outfitted me in the official olympic teams uniform so when i walk around people ask to take pictures of me. today in sesstrierre where i partied way to much with my friend tina last night whos 30th birthday is today i was walking around with emma and mat and this cute italian who could barely speak english asked to take a picture of us. he took 2, very funny. when i feel better, ill tell you all about my make out session wiht paolo, my italian boyfriend who i met at the disco techque where bode miller was drinking as well! i didnt get a chance to make out with bode yet, but im getting so close. im also going to his event on saturday, so maybe i can kiss him there. i did get kissed on the cheek by a croatian cross country skier and touched tongues with guys from the german ice hockey team. last night was very insane. tina for some reason took off her shirt and so did the croatian and she was standing in the middle of the disco in just her bra and the croatian with his shirt off, he has amazing abs, i touched them dont worry pictures to follow when i get home... its all documented.

the end of an era
last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life. my show ended after an 8 year run and it was incredible to be at the taping. all the old people who used to be on the show in whatever capacity, writer, production assistnat, etc all hung out on stage and we all caught up, while i got drunk. then after the show, everyone hung out on the stage for hours and i wandered in and out of dressing rooms with my friend vinnie and hung out with all the cast and their celebirty friends and then the night ended with about 20 people on the stage sitting in the audience looking at the sets and 3 of the cast members talked about their experiences in the early seasons and their excitement and how far they've come and they made toasts and we drank tequila and it went on until about 3am. it will be a very memorable night in my life, it was so intimate and special. i am sitting in my office today for the last time, packing up the last box and taking home my car which i couldn't do last night. it will be the last time i walk out of this building and drive off the lot. I've worked for this company for 5 years on 2 different shows and it's so sad to see it all end. but on a happy note, i'm going to be leaving for italy tomorrow for the olympics, so life ain't that bad!

WARDROBE SALE!!!!
Today is also the big wardrobe sale ONLY THE MOST ANTICIPATED DAY OF THE YEAR!!!! on every successful t.v. show that is coming to an end, they have a wardrobe sale and sell off all the jewlery, purses, clothes and shoes- pretty cheap. now if i worked on friends that would be one thing, i'm sure the stuff was primo at that wardrobe sale, but since i don't work on that show and i work on a period show, all the stuff is going to be from that period. yesterday i went down and got some jewelry before the big sale, and looked around at what i wanted to by, the wardrobe girls and i get along v. well, they're so nice to me!! anyway, the wardrobe sale is the most anticipated event of the end of any show. so off i go (30 mins early, hahahah) and i'm mostly looking for jewelry and purses as i'm not as tiny as the actresses on my show and i don't like too many retro clothes in my closet. except the rock and roll 70s t-shirts!
liam is 6 today
today is my nephew liam's birthday. he's 6 and i cannot believe it. when he was born I was working on the long ago cancelled t.v. show jesse and was a writers assistant. now i'm a writer on a successful writer on a show and so much has changed. actually that's not true, i'm still the same, but i can't believe how big he is!!!!

oh what a night!
okay, so like i said, yesterday i had a terrible day and din't know what to expect for the night. i should've just stayed under the covers and not interact with anyone. but instead i decided to press my luck and go out... BIG MISTAKE! so i go to my friend liz's house for dinner, she made a few girls some chicken sandwiches and we watched the olympics, then i was supposed to meet my roomate stacey and her friends at a bar around the corner, so i walked down the street, which turns out is the perpendicular street to where will, the ex lives, so who do i see carrying groceries down this street, YUP, YOU GUESSED IT. thankfully i was on the other side of the street on my cell, but i get to the bar and i'm like, i just saw will, holy fuck he probably thinks i'm stalking him. my friends promptly get me a drink. as i'm finishing up my drink and feeling much better about my predicatment. who walks into the bar, WILL'S ROOMATE who i know pretty well. he stops at my table with his back to me and i tug on his jacket and say hello, it was awkward, i'm not gonna lie and then he goes to get a drink, so i go up to the bar to close out my tab and go the fuck home, i can't stand this day anymore. while up there the roomate buys me a drink so i stand and talk to him and his friend for like 30 mins and proceed to invite him to the party after our last taping on friday night I SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DRINK, I DO THE STUPIDEST THINGS!! so yeah, now will's roomate is going to be my date on friday night, what have a i done? on a good karma note, i want him to meeet some of my female friends who work on the show who are single and might be looking cause the roomie is an awesome guy, totally cute and quite a catch in this lame ass guy town!

on a sad note today i woke up, put my work out pants on backwards, got a speeding ticket, later a parking ticket and another ticket for expired tags!! what shit storm will tonight bring?

tears
tears were flowing this morning at our very last table read for the series. tears tears tears, people broke down crying and some people couldn't say any words because they were burst into tears and men don't play that, so they just said thanks! so so so so so sad and strange and it made me feel old. like 8 babies have been born to the writrs on this staff while i've been here, 3 weddings, everyone (but me) has bought a house, drive nicer and nicer cars. it's insane , we've all grown up... NOT SO FAST, I'VE GROWN NEITHER UP OR DOWN. i'm driving the same car, dating the same person (mr. nobody) and can still only do about 8 push-ups. i just have more wrinkles. tonight i'm taking the red-eye back east to see my brother who's coming back from iraq for 15 days leave. i'll be with his wife and kids at the airport gate cause we're a military family we can greet soldiers and i'm going to be crying like a baby. i can't wait to see him. then all next week are parties for the show ending and then it's off to torrino, italy to see the last week of the olympics!!

I'm back in the game...
with much pressure from my friends, I have been pushed back into the dating game. that's right, only 1 week after getting dumped a boy i had met at my friends engagemtnt party named... we'll call him stan called me up and asked me out. realizing that 7 days wasn't enough time to get over will, i pushed the date to last night. I admit, i was nervous and had a very bad attitude for the past few days, but last night i got all dressed up and really got into a positive head space for the date. it felt good to be taken out again and liked by a boy. so we meet at 8pm, at bossanova, a brazillian restuarant in hollywood and i was thinking to myself, okay, hes cute, i can do this. we sat down, had really nice conversation, he's very chatty which was nice until i realized he was going to be that way for the ENTIRE 2 HOURS!!!!! Oh my God, it was a complete and total nightmare. I think he asked me 2 questions and as soon as I would answer them, that would remind him of some story and he'd take over the conversation once again. at 9pm the bill arrives and i'm like "yes, i can go out with some other friends after this," and i go to the bathroom and start texting my friends to meet me at a bar. I go back to the table, he has yet topay the bill, and that's when he starts in on the Sci-fi channel!!! that's right, the sc-i fi channell. The programming changes he'd make and how his friends and him sit around and have come up with some great show ideas for them. then i mention i heard battlestar gallatica is a good show (from my brother).... WELL that took the conversation into another direction about how he thinks that battlestar has a lot of similarities to DS-9 (which my friends told me totday stands for deep space nine) seasons 6 and 7 which by the way were their best seasons and the guy who's writing on battlestar wrote for DS 9 six and seven and hes skeptical of that. also mentioned something about patrick stewart and a few star trek movies, i don't know... so at his point i put on my jacket and sat there and listened and then 10 mins go by and i put on my scarf and then 10 mins go by, he's not getting the hint i want to LEAVE1!!!!! SO I pull out my VALET TICKET!!!!! AND HELD IT UP and for 15 more mins he keeps talking about the issues he has with comic book movies!!!!!! This guy does not get the hint i want to go. I felt like I was a Prisoner of war!!!! I literally wanted to run screaming into traffic on sunset blvd. afterwards I picked up my friend Jake and we went to the wine bar I had gone to with bernadette the night before and we smoke and drank wine and i bitched about my date!
so i'm back in the game of dating which is good, i needed a shove or else I never would've done it on my own, but I still miss will, so that sucks! but i'm back out there people, watch out!

good talk
last night i was supposed to go see some movie called annapolis with bernadette and kristin. I have no idea what this is about, but the poster has james franco in a navy uniform, so i figured that's all the convincing i need to buy a ticket! I grabbed drinks with Berna before hand at this great wine bar on fairfax, pretty new and pretty sweet and Kristin called to bail, so berna and i went to the grove and got another glass of wine and talked about life, love, death, expectations and the future. All in all it was a good night! also while i was at the gym yesterday i was watching a special on angelina jolie and I realized the body i was working out in the gym looks nothing like the body jolie has and now i want to get my body to look like hers, so DRUMROLL PLEASE: i am no longer on team aniston, i'm on team jolie!!!!!! While I think jolie is a familiy wrecking whore, i still wouldn't mind looking like her. (i mean, i already have the long dark hair, so how much longer can it take!!!

bode miller
when i go to the olympics next weekend, i'm hoping to make out with bode miller, he's a total freakin babe!! some say i should make out with jeremy bloom since he's a fellow colorado alum, but bode is fucking fine. i think i'll probably end up meeething him through my friend at nike and when i do i'm going to ask him if I can kiss him and then someone is going to snap a picture of it and i will be sure to post it!!!!! CHECK OUT HOW HOT HE IS!

fuck yeah!!!
fuck yeah is my rock paper scissors name! for the past 2 years my friend's kyle and bernadette have a superbowl part/rock paper scissors tournament! everyone puts their name in a hat, they pull the names and put the names in a giant grid like march madness brackets and the games begin. this yeaR FUCK YEAH! was the victor! And I got to yell FUCK YEAH! after each successive victory!!! I AM THE 2006 ROCK PAPER SCISSORS CHAMP. it's actually hilarious because 2 people go up against each other and who ever wins 2 oout of 3 is the winner of that bracket and all the other players sit and watch and everyone is screaming and cheering etc. it's pretty fucking great! i had a blast. also we had our party on sat. night, i'd say about 200 people were there, IT ROCKED i have a picture of me in my dress that the wardrobe dept lent me, PURPLE SEQUINS!! i'll post it this week!

kcrw
if you live in LA and listen to NPR, you're listening to KCRW. it's a totally incredible radio station and twice a year they have an on-air fundraiser and this morning i was up early (mostly because we're working today) and called and donted $100. Well, about 30 mins later while i was still lying in bed, i hear them thank me over the radio. they usually say the person's name and city but they only said my name, pronounced like the singer, not my way of pronouncing, and dind't say my city which leads me to believe they think i AM the singer and must think the singer is pretty fucking cheap! anyway, i was so embarrassed i stuck my head under the pillow!

almost over

my job and the show i've been working on for the past 4 years is rapidly coming to a close. we're done 2 weeks from today!! yikes!!!! here's a picture of the craft services table from todays table read and 2 from stage yesterday. I've started to clean out my office, it's weird to find pictures of people who i was dating 4 years ago in the bottom of my desk drawers. i've taken the pictures down and started packing up. SO SAD!!! on a high note, today we ordered from kat-suya sushi, one of the best sushi restaurants in LA! it was so good! if you ever come to visit insist that we go there to eat at least one meal! one more thing about my office, is it wrong to take my dusty books and scripts that have been sitting on the shelves in here for 3 years and rub them on my couch instead of getting a cloth and actually dusting them myself? i didn't think so.

phew!
worked out today with my new trainer. my old trainer quit the business, not sure if the disappointing results I had had anything to do with it. I like to think not. anyway, I now go where my friends greg and amy go. it's a private gym where the guy trains like 5 clients at one time. he'll set me up on some weight machine and while i go at it he helps someone else. actually a great way to do it and cost effective as it costs 1/2 of how much i was paying the other broad. evite party update is at 160. if you're in beverly hills on saturday, why don't you stop on by, everyone else is.

i'm a bad driver
i think its safe to say i'm a bad driver. i know people don't usually admit to their short comings but i think that's doing a disservice to us all. If i think my friend has the perfect life and i' m constantly comparing myself to her life and putting myself down because my life isn't as perfect or together when really she doesn't have the perfect life but i don't know that... it's just all around bad. so i'm telling you, i'm a bad driver. And now, with the advent of cell phones, expensive coffee drinks i don't want to spill and now sirius satellite radio that i'm constantly futzing with, i barely pay attention to the road at all! I realized this yesterday when after driving for about 15 mins, I realized that I didn't even have any hands on the steering wheel. This insanity has got to stop, mark my words that when I get into my car tonight to drive home from my office, i will not allow the above mentioned distractions to take me away from my obligation to those around me to remain focus on the road.

yikes
well, i was doing so well in weight watchers, but the being dumped has really sent me into a spiralling weight gaining set back. I'M SUCH A FUCKING CLICHE!! i hate it, i'm a cliche of a woman, who only talks about losing weight and getting dumped. holy shit, i'm a fucking cliche! i've never done anything normal, like going to college way far away when everyone else went close to home and then picking up and moving across the country and finding my way out in LA, i've prided myself on being different my entire life, only to come to find out i'm a fucking cliche. sorry i love the f word so much. anyway, it's true, people. male comedy writers all think women aren't funny. yes, it's true, i know one who wrote an entire article about it, and they all say that women comedians only talk about "i'm fat i ate a pint of ice cream last night, wahhh!" or "my boyfiend dumped me and now i have a million cats, waaaah!" i guess it's true! so from this day forth, i will talk about something different! just give me some time to come up with something!

movies
went to see the "matador" last night with liz and rachel and adam. we got a drink after. didn't really like the movie, although, i have been conditioned to say i like every indie movie in this town just cause people think indie = smart movie= they think you're in intellectual if you like it. Therein lies the problem. anyway, i love Remington Steele in it and greg kinnear, but overall... not so much! as least i have the courage to say that. on another note, anyone watch that oprah with james frey, author of a million little pieces? I of course did cause i'm obsessed with her and have her as a tivo seasons pass. anywho, i thought she kinda annihilated the guy and i'm not sure he deserved that. if he goes and kills himself, that blood is on her hands (hands that i hope to high five one day, as it were). I think there are so many greater issues in the world right now, whether or not james frey fabricated and or exaggerated some of the stories in his "memoir," is not one of them.

the week in review
i've had a bad week, by all accounts. So this morn when i was walking out of rite-aid after picking up my perscription for some bacterial infection I have, I saw the scratch off california lottery tickets and thought "well if there was a time i'd win, it would be this week!" so i bought 2 tickets and got to my office and furiously started scratching. Well, i don't know if you have bought a scratch off ticket recently, but they're really hard to follow, not the instructions, but figuring out whether or not you won! I have a bachelors degree and consider myself pretty intelligent, I mean hey I can master crossword puzzles and sudoku, but i couldn't for the life of me figure out what the fuck the game was all about! I had to enlist the help of one of the writers assistants who reviewed the bingo game card and reassured me, no I had not in fact won $20! the bad week continues!

oprah!
from time to time I check oprah's website to see "what shows they're working on," hoping that one day, one of the upcoming topics would include a guest like me. Unfortunately, I'm not part of a couple who has been inspired by Garth or Trisha, have children with accumulating debt or have asked anyone "do i have a big butt." (an actual upcoming topic) Today is no different, no oprah topics for me to submit myself for. why do i want to be on oprah? I'm not sure, but one day, oprah, i will bump fists with you!!!!
coffee good!
I treated myself to a nice vanilla soy latte yesterday. Day 2 of being single. My friend decided to dump her boyfriend today, and be all sad about it, i think she's trying to steal my break up thunder! I think I'm not too happy about this, now all our friends will be calling her to see how she's doing and i'm left out in the dust. truth be told I'm doing fine but still like the attention. I'm going to book my torrino, italy tickets today, YAHOOO!!

back to my old tricks
OKAY, so yesterday being my first full day back in single-dom, i did my usual single activity and went to book soup in west hollywood, which is the most incredible, amazing book store in this city! i used to walk there a lot when i lived in west hollywood, but now i drive and look at all the new books and the people who work there are so smart ( you have to take all these tests and interviews just to get a job there) and they recommend the best books. so as i'm puruising the asisles, i need to get around this guy and i'm all "excuse, me" and IT WAS BURT REYNOLDS!!! the burt reynolds!! can you believe it? i was so freaking pumped. BURT FREAKING REYNOLDS!! he was wearing a red sweater and was looking at the poker books!!! also, he was totally wearing a full toupee!! he was there for the entire time i was there (he was not dumped recently cause his significant other was there, a very put together beverly hills looking lady) which was about an hour? then I was reading a book by the register when they went to pay and they spent $342.16!!! that's a lot of reading material. I ddin't get anything. then as i was leaving, I got to my car and parking next to me is CHRISTOPHER LLOYD FROM TAXI AND BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!! he got out of his porshe SUV and was milling around my car, making sure i didn't hit his car and then he headed into book soup. what a great celebirty spotting night!!!

breaking up is hard to do
so i got dumped yesterday by will. aw, so sad. for those of you out there who are married, thank your lucky stars, being single sucks big time!!! anyway, he said that it seemed like it was getting serious and he's not really in a place in his life to be serious with someone (he is 25, this should be no surprise to me) and that he's probablyl going to regret this decision and he wants to be friends. but he was really nice and had the balls to meet up with me and that says a lot about his character and why i liked him in the first place. I know a guy who dumped his girlfriend over EMAIL after dating for 8 months and he is like 36, so it speaks a lot to his maturity at 25. oh, well. back in the saddle again. ON sat. night, i knew i was getting dumped and i went around my friends birthday party and took bets on what will was going to say when he dumped me and everyone wrote out their opinions on 2 cocktail napkins. it's in my car, which much like my relationship died yesterday so it's in the shop. tomorrow I will take a picture of the cocktail napkins when I get the car back and write them out cause someone of them are so freaking funny!!!
Saturday, January 21, 2006
hmmm
i may not be dumping my boy toy after all. turns out I might be the one getting dumped. see i didn't actually want to dump him, it's just i was freaked out, regardless, i haven't heard from him in days and that's not his typical behavior... something is afoot. too bad I don't have the courage to pick up the phone and be like what's going on? maybe i will later in the day. maybe if i eat something...

sirius satellite radio
i got my sirius satellite radio installed (i did it myself, thank you v. much) and i have no use for terrestrial radio, cause it SUCKS!! sirius is the best, i love love love it!! There are endless amounts of channels of music and talk to listen to, never again do i have to sit there and listen to commercials because all the stations have them on at once!!! AND the big draw is howard stern, baby!! it's weird to hear him cuss on the air, though, i'll be honest. anyway, on another note, evite update: 100 yes-es, 9 maybes, 15 nos and 165 question marks meaning they haven't replied either way. and the evite was only sent out 36 hours ago!! I'M FREAKING OUT!! what i've learned is you invite 237 people but then they all come with someone and so put a +1!!! so i'm starting to lose my mind!

party
we're throwing a party on feb. 4th, but it's getting a little out of control. the person who owns the house doesn't want more than 120 people there which i get, but unfortunately, the evite list hovers somewhere around the upper 200s. you think people won't come, but you'd be wrong, the number of yes replies keeps growing and growing to the point that i'm getting nervous!!!

communication is the key
I sense a breakup on the horizon. I fear I don't know how to communicate to my 25yr old man child, this is mostly due to my irish catholic upbringing where conflict didn't exist (or at least wasn't spoken about) and now i do not have the communication tools to bring issues up or how to gracefully and diplomatically discuss them. My dad, sister and I are very blunt and we don't knwo how to couch things in a way that are like a beautifully decorated package with a bright red bow. More to come on that... watched the golden globes last night, thought steve carell's speech was hilar! didn't really like anything else. why does debra messing annoy me so, she's done nothing to me!!!

Living in bev. hills, I often see "Rodeo" but yesteray i went to the rodeo with my friends emma and matija. Ifrst of all, it was like an hours drive out of LA. when we turn off the freeway, the little town, norco, CA, had horse trails, not sidewalks, and people were on horses everywhere, i was like whre the fuck am i? then we go to the rodeo and there's like cowboy hats and boots everywhere. 3 city slickers did not fit in! So the thing starts with a prayer and while the cowboy is sayiing the pray for the safety of our cowboys, amazing grace is playing ever so lightly underneath. then some guy came out and did some trick roping, he was like the world trick roping champion, and he was very impressive and then another girl came out and her horse curtsied! so i was so entertained and on board. but then it took a very dark turn and the next thing I know there a baby cow running away from a guy on a horse with good reason cause he lassos a rop around his neck which snaps the calf's head back and then the cowboy gets off his horse, and throws the calf on its side and ties up 3 of it's 4 legs and leaves it there on the ground twitching and in shock for 10 seconds. VERY UPSETTING. the 3 city girls did not see that coming and couldn't believe this was a sport. I think i was in more shock than the calf was. mmY favorite part was miss rodeo california who wore white leather chaps with gold lame fringe on them, very fancy!!!

winter olympics
i decided today that since we're done taping on feb. 17th that on the 19th i'm going to turin italy for the olympics!! one of my best frieinds from college works for Nike so i have a free place to stay and my good friend from high school works at NBC sports and and my friend emma and matija are going to go with me, so this is freakin' awesome. actually emma and mat. are here visiting LA and we went hiking this morning before work and we had talked before about doing it, but we've convinced each other it's going to be an awesome idea, especially since we have zero expectations! also it will be my last blow out since i can't take a huge around the world trip like i usually do every year since my show is over and i have to stay in town to take meetings and get on another show. anyway, i'm excited. just a sidebar THIS WILL BE MY 3RD OLYMPICS!! i worked at the summer ones in '96, went to salt lake and now turin, which will be my first one out of the U.S. I've also been to the olympic museum in lausanne, switzerland with my friend joe who i met in Geneva, swiss, who's blog is the air force academy one on the upper left hand hyperlink.
also, here are pics of him at the musee olympic taken by yours truly

my life is weird
yesterday i was in the wardrobe dept. gabbing with the gals who i'm doing weight watchers with (haven't cheated yet!) and i turn the corner and i see one of our guest cast getting fitted for his outfit and he's removing his pants! he has no pants! this wouldn't be a big deal if it werent for the fact that he's from a very popular t.v. show from the 70s and a very recognizable face, i'm just not telling you who he is to protect my own ass, you can email me and i'll tell you!

what did i do yesterday?
nothing really exciting to report. we're kinda far behind on our script writing schedule. so this week again we had to do another gang bang where we come up with the story and then every writer is assigned a scene to write. so yesterday i was assigned my scene. also yesterday howard stern went on the air of satellite radio, but i couldn't get it going cause serius satellite sucks and i can't figure out what's wrong with it!

movies
went to see a shit load of movies this weekend: rumor has it with jennifer anniston sucked, but i still love those kind of movies, then saw matchpoint by woody allen, which i really really liked and i've been wildly dissapointed by his last movies, so that was a nice surprise and then i saw "the familiy stone," which was okay, i liked it better than i thought i would. also, the jeans i wore to the movies last night, i'm wearing to work today, shhhh! i joined weight watchers yesterday, very excited to lose some weight, i'm thinking 11 pounds! that should put me at a good weight and i think i'd feel more comfortable in some of my pants if i lose some LBs, let's home i don't lose it in my boobs. the last time i lost weight that's what happened. i think will comes home from budapest some time this week, let's see if he calls me!

must see t.v.
yesterday i could barely get out of bed, not sure why. worked all day and then went to the gym and worke dout for an hour before going home and planting my ever expanding ass on the couch in front of the t.v. I read a few plays in my short play book as my next writing sample is going to be a one act play. i need to start it ASAP as my agents will need to distribute it later this winter/early spring for me to get a job.

how awesome was that nat'l champs game last night? went to a friend of a friend's house, basically a house filled with all beautiful actors/actresses in west hollywood. it was awesome. they had a HDTV and a projector onto one of the sides of the walls. they had pizza and KFC and cupcakes from sprinkles that cupcake store in beverly hills, that is so freaking good. honestly, the best things i've ever eaten, if they weren't fattening, id have them b'fast, lunch dinner!!! AND TEXAS WON!!!! hook 'em horns. I know i live in USC land, but i went to a Big 12 school and you gots to root for your conference!!!!!!
